Cooking Bulgur

  • 175 g bulgur
  • 400 ml water
  • 3 g salt (½ teaspoon)


  • 30 g tomato paste
  • 25 ml vinegar
  • 30 ml olive oil
  • 25 g grenadine
  • 1 g Italian seasoning
  • 15 g honey


  • 125 g cheese cubes (Gouda cheese)
  • 175 g cucumber
  • 75 g green olives
  • 150 g cherry tomatoes
  • 250 g grilled bell peppers (red and green)
  • 75 g red onion (1 red onion)
  • 20 g fresh chives
  • 10 g fresh dill


  1. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the bulgur, pour in the water, and bring to a boil. Add salt. Once boiling, reduce the heat, cover, and let simmer for 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and let rest with the lid on.
  2. In a bowl, combine tomato paste, vinegar, olive oil, grenadine, Italian seasoning, and honey. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Add the cooked bulgur to a bowl and mix with the sauce.
  4. Peel and chop the red onion. Cut cheese, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and olives into small pieces. Chop grilled bell peppers, dill, and chives.
  5. Combine the bulgur with the chopped ingredients and mix well.


  • Lightly toast the bulgur before cooking to enhance its flavor.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Use vegetables you enjoy.
  • Store covered in the refrigerator.
  • Serves 4 people in 40 minutes.
